This is a "VERY" demanding Ride, and I absolutely do not recommend it for Riders without quite a bit of Ride Experience in Miles, Years, and Various Terrain.....
Left on Hwy 276 out of Maggie Valley, NC.....Left on Cove Creek Road...this Road will make very abrupt climbs, and has corners so tight that they are marked 5 mph...the rutted, broken, really narrow asphalt soon plays out to Gravel...you will travel on really rutted, narrow, loose gravel until after about 12 miles, You turn Left onto another short section of asphalt...this takes You to the Cataloochie Forrest part of the Smokies (...home of the Elk Herd...we have seen at least one everytime...the Males are not to be taken lightly, and not fond of Scooters or Trikes stopping for Pics... )...at the start of the Parking Lot for the Trailhead take the Gravel Road...several miles of Very Very Very Loose Deep Gravel with Very Steep Drops that transition into 90 degree Turns at the Bottoms, and One Lane Bridges...plan to be a "Runaway Sled" on some, and use Your Brakes/Throttle to make the Turns...DO NOT MISS, and make sure nothing is coming since you will need the whole 12 feet of road to make some of them, and there are no guardrails to keep you from landing many, many feet into the Forrest below...."Eventually", You will finally come to Hwy 32 the 14 mile long, extremely twisty, narrow, "Dragonesque" Road that takes You down to Cosby, Tn (Road that I hit Pine sap on, almost laid the Ruckus down, then rode the rim of the mountain above a several hundred foot drop off after saving it... )...Left onto Hwy 321 will take You into Gatlinburg.....FANTASTIC RIDE and SCENERY.....FULL Concentration is Required on the Gravel Sections especially...... ;D ;D ;D...Some Pics.....
