Hey I've been trying to find a #38 slow jet for my stock carb. I really don't want to have to buy a kit. I've hunted on the internet and not had luck, other than the kits. I tried calling the Honda dealership here in Reno, NV and he said they couldn't even order one. They recommended a place that works on Honda generators and the like. I went in there (the phone call just had them confused) with my #35 jet and they said they couldn't help me unless I had engine codes. I had the carb info, but the guy was really insistent on the code. I'm going to copy a couple of pages out of the service manual, but I'm betting that won't help him if he's looking for something really specific. He showed me a generator engine and where the code was, but I'm not seeing anything like that on the Ruck. Does anyone know what I should give him for that?
I've got a #42 slow jet and it's just wayyyy too huge and bogging it down. I can't get over 20mph lol. I knew it was too big but I'd rather run rich than lean while waiting on the right size. I'm still tweaking at my main jet. I'm going to try an #82 next. I'm on an #85 and it still seems too rich (I just have a pod filter and Posh CDI, the rest is stock - seriously I'm not after speed. I just like working on it ). Eventually, I'll get an exhaust so I did buy a pretty wide range of main jets. The slow ones are very hard to find.
