Today I pulled the variator to install my new Honda Metropolitan rollers. I thought I read a post where it said the Mets have heavier rollers thus more potential top speed. I have a digital scale I use for air rifle pellets and weighed both rollers. The stock Ruckus was exactly 7.0 grams and the Met was 6.2 grams. I am going to install all 6 of the Met rollers and see what happens. If it's good on take off but slower top speed I'll then try three of each weight. I'll post the results good or bad tomorrow. Okay here's what I found out. When I swapped all 6 rollers with Met 6.2 gram ones I had less acceleration and less top speed. When I switched out half 6.2's and half 7.0's I picked back up on acceleration and lost a little top end. For my weight running the stock Ruckus 7 grams rollers is best right now. I think I'll try and order maybe some 11 gram ones and try them.
Anyone care to chime in on this? Wardie

Usually lighter weight rollers will give you more acceleration as it will require more engine speed to shoot them out, but loose top speed as usually they do not go as far as the heavy ones, metropolitan weight generally give you better accel but cost a couple of mph for us heavy guys (more than 220 lbs or 100 kilos). It will require a couple of days for a set of rollers to settle down, before any real performance advantage or lack of it can be found

Darn it Chanito I wished I would've known that, I've already swapped half of them. Darn it...I'll have to pull them this weekend too busy today. Thanks Wardie

Just an example of what i use. Im 210lbs and if I go lighter than 6.25 gram average I begin to lose top end. 6.5 gr rollers give me the best all around performance for my weight. Tuning into your weight is the key as everyone is different.

Hi Aweshucks.. you're right and I'm beginning to learn about the nuiances of these little buggers. They are fun and it's neat to play around with things to see what works or not. Where's a good place to buy non stock rollers? If I have half 7 grams and the other half 6.2 grams what would that work out to? Maybe 6.6 grams??

Yep 6.6 Just space the different weights every other slot so it is balanced.
From my experience I get the best performance running as light of rollers as possible without losing top end. Often times only a .5gr change is your peak window to hit. There is a ton of places to get rollers from. I get some from Battle scooter, scooter works, monster scooter....... etc etc
