The Ruckus will be a bit slower than it would for a smaller/lighter rider, but it will be able to handle someone your weight. There seems to be a lot of bigger guys that ride the Ruckus. With that said, you'll probably want to upgrade the rear shock.
You might want to see how comfortable you are on the Ruckus though. You may find it short on legroom, so a lowered seat and/or a seat move back kit might work well for you.

Yeah stroll into a showroom and see what it's like. Roll it off the centerstand before you sit on it though. It feels weird for anyone to sit on it with the back end jacked up like that.

im 6'4" 240lbs give or take.. first mod i did was add BMX pegs.. then you will feel much better.. you can also get different handlebars and stem.. and lower seat frame.. you can also order A-Bombs.. which they extend your frame.. another guy on totalruckus makes newer ones in different sizes out of steel not aluminum like A-Bombs.. i ride mine whenever i can and i have no problems.. mine is stock handlebars and stock seat.. i just use BMX pegs.. and i did put a KN variator with metro weights.. gives better acceleration and top end is great

I used to take my daughter to school in mine, and i am over 220 alone, she is probably 100, so poor Katrina used to start her days with over 300 pounds on her
