Morning everyone,
I just took ownership of a 2006 Honda Big Ruckus with 583 miles on it.
the guys had mentioned that he did not ride it in the last 8 months so I figured I may need to clean the gas and carb but.
It wont even turn over.
Lights and horn work.. so battery was ok, or at least enough juice to power these in the meantime.
At first nothing was happening so I opened the manual to see if there is a special way to start it.
I read the owners manual so: I have the center stand up I also have engaged the brakes (tried front only, rear only and both) Engine button is set to "run" Key is in the correct position.
It finally turned over a few times and as we kept trying it went back to not turning over at all. So then I figured I must have drained the battery.
I attached my charger to it and left it over night.
Went this morning battery charge was 100%
Went to try to start and say thing it will not turn over...
Any help please this is starting to frustrate me..
thanks
PS. I love this bike and cant wait to ENJOY....

Clean the batt terminals, remove the bolts holding the connectors, clean them and reinstall them ;D

Try holding just the left brake lever and pulling it in as far as you can. I rode a Big Ruck recently and it required that you pull the lever in really far in order to permit the scoot to start. As you pull the lever in, the brake light should come on almost right away and then you'll hear another faint click further into the pull that indicates it's enabled to start.

The gas tank is under the floor boards, if the bike has been sitting for a long time like mine, it was not easy to start, the carb was dry. I tried to get it going and finally had to take the tube in front of the carb off and put my hand over the carb till I had gas up there. It should pump it up but it is sure hard on the starter. As for the cranking look at the switches in the brakes and make sure they are being activated mine likes both of them on. move the levers around with the button pressed and see if there is a glitch in the switches. Have fun, Dave

Yea I know just what you mean. It will make a whimpering attempt but just enough for you to think there is life left in the ole gal then nothing. No Vroom. Mine wanted a new battery after sitting unstarted for 8 months. LOTS of Vroom. Drag out the electric toothbrush. Gonna needs something to get the bugs outya teeth. Good luck Mynzkitty@gmail.com p.s. If you dont mind me being nosey, what did you have to give for it? I have my o6 BR maybe up for sale.
