I was wondering if anyone has the wiring diagram and some resistances so I can do some test. Has anyone here had this problem? What did you do? any common problems with this? Thank you

did you try putting some gas in? sometimes my light goes on, I fill up, and it goes off.

???I neve heard of this problem before, obviously i think you got gas on your tank so remove the florboard and disconnect the sensor and see if it goes away. maybe your sensor is shorted, as almost all the leds would be affected if there is someother problem ;D

That wiring schematic doesn't really help because it doesn't detail the inner workings of the sensor (thermistor? float + switch?).
But here's what you can do: remove the floor and disconnect the sensor harness, turn the key on - Is the fuel light on or off? Turn the bike off. Jump together the two terminals on the bike side connector. Now turn the bike on again, has the light changed?
If the light operates normally with such a test, the fault is on the sensor.

wow, I wasnt really expecting this many responses (got nothing at TR). Anyway, thanks for the wiring diagram. i checked some stuff out while I was at work and Im down to 2 things which doesnt way much on such a simple system. I d have resistance changes in the fuel sensor when its submerged in gas and out of gas but I cant really rule that out yet until i have some actual resistance specs. Other than that, it looks like the led drive unit. Can anyone do a quick resistance check on their ruck for the fuel sensor? Thanks again for the responses
