Hello.
I've been reading up on what's been written here about adding foot pegs to a Ruck, as I'm in the process of working out how to add them to mine. But it looks like where I want to put them is not where everyone else has them; up front.
What I'd like to do is remove the curved up leading edge of the floor board and put the pegs out front, beneath the battery box, so that I can stretch my legs out further. I have grouchy knees that hate me for riding with them bent for 40km / day.
I'm having problems figuring out what there is up front that I could bolt some pegs onto. From the photos I've seen of stripped down Rucks there doesn't seem to be any attaching points further forward than the bolts that hold the floor board and gas tank down.
If anyone has mounted pegs up there, can you please let me know how you did it? Or if you have any brainstorm ideas that you could share...
Ta!

Skuuter has pegs mounted towards the front of the floorboard, but I don't know of any further. I guess you could take off the floorboard and the battery box and see what you could do it with.

Skuuter has pegs mounted towards the front of the floorboard Thank you for the tip! I had a hunt around the site and found photos of Skuuter's pegs.. unfortunately they're not where I'd like mine. Here's a rough idea.. comparing Skuuter's with what I'd like to have. farm3.static.flickr.com/2365/2494834144_448df12fdc.jpg?v=0(I hope no one minds my borrowing their photos to make this... and that my attempt to embed the image works. *fingers x'd*) I guess I will likely just have to take things apart and see what I have to work with.

I think when Skuuter had my brother's Ruckus, the footpegs were higher up the lip. At least, the holes in the floorboard indicate that. I don't know how strong the structure is, I guess if Skuuter ever gets a free moment to post, he could add his thoughts on it.

Those look great! I hope the metal isn't to slick for you feet to get a good grip on 'em.
I've taken the board up on mine and am brainstorming a solution that isn't too crazy looking. I had wanted to remove the OEM board and pan and keep them whole, as I'm thinking to replace them eventually, but removing the pan looks like a pain in the tail. >.<
I'll post a sketch or something once I think it's worth showing...

Those skulls are classic. Thanks for the pictures! You know someone makes a skull radiator cover too, and there have been a couple of bikes I have seen with iron cross rear lights.

In the steering neck of the frame is a plug remove it presto no drill Thank you for the construction photos. :) My design is coming along and will be making use of that ready made hole too. Wouldn't dare put holes in the complicated structure that Honda's technicians have designed for the front of the frame. 0.0;

Awesome! Best peg placement I have seen so far. I would love to do the same install but am a brand new Ruckus owner, so I'm pretty cautious about damaging my scoot. Any trouble with cornering? Catching pegs on road in deep turns?
Also, I'd love a detailed, step by step, dumbed down instructions for your install! Thanks!

Thanks.. I made the frame and the foot pegs are bolted on.. They are foling ones so they can store up if needed. I also made the aluminum gas tank cover to go with it.
I love going through here and seeing all the stuff people do to their rucks.

I made a whole new frame and placed my pegs where you are talking about. That looks great! I'm going to have to build a frame as well.. seems like the best way to get around the plastic curves at the front of the stock floor board. I'd rather not be cutting chunks off of it in case I want to return to stock sometime in the future. Thank you for the photo. ^_^
