Hi gang. I am very seriously considering buying a BR and have a few questions for you. Why are scooters in this class so expensive vs motorcycles of the same size/power. They seem to be about double the price. This will be my first real bike. I recently way overpaid for an 80cc Yahmaha Riva. I really like it, but it doesn't keep up with traffic. I am signed up for the MSF in late April and plan to ride their bikes (you know the ones with the gears ) . Do you think it worth it to wait until I finish that to see what I like - scoot vs bike - or just go ahead and buy it now. I'm pretty partial to the full automatic of the scooters, but would like to hear from folks that ride both. Last thing is I'm constantly looking on craig's list, ebay, and local shops for a used one. I can afford new, but wouldn't mind saving some money. What does anyone think of both the idea of a used one and the likelyhood of finding one - philadelphia area. Unfortunetly I did see one 2 months ago but wasn't committed yet. Thanks a lot for any feedback. Rob

First of all, I LOVE MY BR!
as far as price, I bought mine for $5000 out the door including tax, tag and title. At certain parts of the year, honda will offer incentives to sell the BR and will go down on their prices. but make sure you or someone you know can talk a deal.
Also, do your research ahead of time and it wouldn't hurt to wait and see how you feel.
I recommend buying new because you only have a 1 year warranty and It may come in handy (parking brake). Unfortunately, Im in FL and dont know that area.
Good Luck!

Thanks n00b Ruckster! I'm picking up my grey 2006 BR tomorrow. Can't wait. They offered an extended 4 year warrenty (additional 3 years on top on the 1) for $400. Anybody think that is worth it?
