I now have around 3000km on my BG and she is beginning to run smoother, but initially the vibration resulting in body panel rattling, magnified by the windscreen of course, was disturbing. Has anyone experienced this problem? I have followed the discussion re synthetic oil and potential improved running and wonder whether there are any long term problems with synthetics, i believe Honda doesn't approve of there use and i wonder why. I still get some vibration at lower speeds but at least the rattles have ceased.

I too had a vibration buzzing at speed. I found the cause today. It is the plastic panel inside where the gas tank is. It just sits in there loose. I put some weatherstripping around it and fixed it easily.

I have isolated the side plastic panels with rubber inserts and that made quite a difference, i noticed the panel in the gas tank area just sits there and i will apply some weather stripping or tape as you suggest. The vibration has reduced substantially now that i have 3000km on the clock so i assume the initial problem was due to a tight new engine.

Is the plastic panel inside near the radiator? I, noticed a loosely fitted panel that looks to be a guide for the incoming air to the radiator. On the right side it was loose, on the left side it is more secure. What is normal for this design, is a peice missing from the assembly process?

I replaced the weather stripping with some velcro. Put some on the bottom of the slip in panel and some on the top of the insides. Put them back together, and nice tight fit.

Velcro, duct tape and baling wire. It's what keeps lots of things together: apart and on the road
