Hi, I'm a new member to the forum and the proud owner of a BR, i had the little Ruckus for a couple of years but when i took the BR for a test run i was so impressed that i immediately traded in junior and six months later i am still thrilled with the beast. It is not only good looking but extremely practical, i regularly carry large loads with the combination of a pair of TEKNIC side bags and a bungie cord net for the rear platform. I find the net provides the flexibility to carry a variety of loads from small to very large and for me is preferable to a fixed box/container. I also seached for an appropriate windscreen and finally settled on a medium size Slipstream Universal model that is attached to the frame just below the marker lights.

Hi Silverwind, I had to mount mine on the handlebars. I have the 24 X 24 Slipstreamer and if I mounted mine where your's is, the handlebars hit it. Mine sits a little high, but it is OK. I live in North Florida where it doesn't get real cold.

Silverwind, Can you show the mounts? Are they stock mounts that come w/windshield? Where did you buy it, and how much w/shipping? What are the dimensions of the windshield and how much space is there between the black plastic on the front and the windsheild of the BR? Some offroad handguards would help keep your hands protected during inclement weather. I've been looking for a pair for winter use, here in, Pittsburgh. Trying to design removable legsheilds for winter use.

p.s. The front end looks empty; I'm going to post some photos at the end of the week that shows what can fit there and be useful. Might be selling a kit to install aux driving light and a set of highway horns. Will post this forum when we have a final design.

Trying to design removable legsheilds for winter use. I, too, have been looking for some hand guards but most of them mount to the handlebars. The handlebars on the BR don't allow much, if any, room for anything to be mounted because of the disc brake and mirror things. If you do happen to find some handguards that will work with the BR, I would love to know what kind you got.

You are right about the mounting problem. I'll check shops this week, might have to alter mount system for the handguards. I've made some custom mounts from brake lever mounts; but they can cost $10 ea. to start. Then there is the alteration time. Would be better if the handguards come with a better mount system. Some ATV items could work. The local Yamaha shop has a good inventory of offroad bike and ATV stuff; will check them, this week.

pallettman, yes i would have liked a wider screen but i realised that it would probably foul the handlebars if mounted on the frame. I preferred the frame mounting because it sits lower and at an ideal height that allows me to see over the top if necessary. Honda Japan has a similar windscreen for the BG that has a much lower coverage but to import it is extremely expensive, around $350.00 US according to Battlescooter.

izzynormal, the slip streamer windshields are sold throuhout the US and Canada check their web site at www.slipstreamer.com They have three universal models and i chose the CF40, 20"H x 17"W because i wanted to mount it on the frame and the wider CF50 would probably foul the handlebars as noted by pallettman above. The hardware is standard and the screen clears the frame by approx. 1/2". The only problem i had was with the mounts working loose due to vibration but after applying " Permatex Threadlocker Blue " to the threads i have not had any problem and the mounts have remained secure. They sell a screen for the BG in Japan that is about the same width as the CF40 and is also mounted on the frame but has more lower coverage, you can check it out at Honda Japans site : www.honda.co.jp/PS250/utility/accessory1/index.html I checked with Battlescooter and the cost of importing the screen would be about $350.00 US, i paid around $100.00 CAN but the dealer provided it as part of my final deal. I will post a close up photo of the mounting later.

Izzy, here is a picture of the mount and its location on the frame for my slip streamer windscreen. It really works well with this setup.

Thanks for the info- my husband is already worried about getting a windshield. I ride with a FF helmet but we ride most of the year so it's liable to get COLD. I'll have to think about this option!
