Hills.
I've heard in the top speed section a lot of talk about what the big girl'll do down hills. But I'm curious as to how she handle goin' up hills. It's no secret I've got Big Ruckus Fever, bad, but I live in an area ripe with hills (you might know this section of North Carolina as the Rolling Plains). Lemme hear what you've experienced, and thanks for the input.

Riding anything with a small engine is always an act in planning. The first VW I drove was a '53 van with about 30hp and it was in Seattle. One looked way down the road and got the revs up and kept them there when a hill was in sight. Same goes for the BR. keep the revs up and you'll handle those mountains and curves like some sport bikes only wished they could. I rode all through the mountains while at the Honda Hoot and I was far from the slowest rider going through Deals Gap the day I rode it.

You don't have to worry about getting a speeding ticket if you are going up hill!
You definetly have to keep the revs up. If you let off, you will only hit about 50mph on an actual up hill climb.

Thats the truth, long enough uphill climb & you'll be down to 55 no matter what kinda run you get, but the same hills will get my Jeep down to the same speed & I can get around the curves on the Ruckus without losing as much speed.

I've managed 58 up some long hills, a little tuck helps. If I ever mount the shield Teshlu gave me I can hope for a little better. I find the engine revving a little quicker with the synthetic oil Now with the gas crunch I'm glad I have the old girl. 70mpg makes me feel better at the pump, where I had to pay $79 to fill up my BRT (Big red truck ) I plan to over inflate all my tires and see what happens

So far, doesn't sound so bad. I'm not in Boone, anymore, so the hills aren't as bad as they were in the high country (though I only found one I thought Ryoko was going to just die going up on).
Hell, even if you said it only did like 6 mph on molehill, I'm still sold on the thing.

Here in, Pittsburgh we have a bicycle run up one of our steep hills and around the city. Sycamore Street is famous around the world among cyclists. We just had a scooter rally in the, 'Burgh and my, BR made it up that hill with no problems. Many of the smaller engines had a serious problem on the hill; one rider/passenger had to walk the worst part of the hill to get their small vespa up the hill. My, BR was the only one in the ride. There were 3 R's there; but only on BR.
