Many of you may have read the thread in pics about the s.f. scooter rage rally. But let me tell you the pics and words only go so far. While we were on our own scooter run, robo-mod had the brilliant idea to split lanes through the bumper to bumper traffic of the embarcadero. This is all fine and good when you're on a ruckus. Even on a crotch rocket or cafe racer it wouldn't be so bad. But imagine a big ruckus speeding between stopped traffic with, mere inches passing between car and scooter mirrors. Props to batgirl, fear is not a factor for her. But wait... what made me the proudest when i put her on the spot at Pier 30. The pasta scoots were dragging up and down the Pier, top speed, no helmets, four abreast. Batgirl came cruising up when I issued a challenge for her, to one of the faster scooters, a vintage granturrismo (sp?) 200 cc, that had been modified for speed. He agreed and even more surprising was that batgirl was excited to do it. She and the other went to the line, and the signal was given. Off they went. The Pasta immediately jumped 5 scooter lengths ahead, but batgirl had the throttle pegged. A quarter of the way down she started pulling up on him, not slowly, but hard. She closed a 20 foot gap in a matter of seconds and they reached the end of the Pier around the same time. They made the turn back, and it was a repeat of the same thing. I was so excited by the race that i didn't see who won, but it was close. The smile on batgirl's face after the race, was priceless. She was immediately surrounded by people giving her props for racing. She made me proud to be part of the Honda Clan at the S.F. Scooter Rage. Thanks Batgirl.
