I have too much time and a great imagination, this is something I have been waiting for and didn't even realize it. I am color blind so I can't get a pilots license. What I really wanted was a glider license; but no pilot's ticket no gliders lic. My wife says she will do unmentionable things to me (not good ones) if I build any type of ultra light so I think this is the answer. I am on the list and they will accept a deposit and Chanito said he would pay for the kit It's going to be exciting to see the progress of this one. Counter-rotating blades so no tail rotor, also no auto-rotate: but there are delf deploying chutes and it can have a soft landing on water. My area is full of ponds, big and little, even big stock tanks so there should be plenty of escape ramps. When it was first tested they were going to take it up a few feet, when one of the cowboys was way out of shouting range and giggling like a fool they got a megaphone and ordered him down: and then the rest of the guys were going nuts. 10 gals (reg gas 4 stroke not av gas) flew it over 2 hours. Think of all the trouble you could get into. They have set it up just like a scooter, no hand foot eye coordination, left/right, forward, up ad down,, all hands no feet controls. (I don't have complete use of my right leg). No collective which is touchy (I've flown a small Helo for a short time). Just plot a course and stash gas cans along the way. I a getting ready to sell one of my volumetric mixers (it's a batch truck or a cement factory on wheels, just make what you need) and the profit should cover this Air Scooter, wouldn't that be a kick IMHO. Here's what a rolling cement plant looks like. I should stay off the net, but this was in Popular Mechanics.
