.....best line i ever heard in a film, was by john travolta, when askd why he was driving a prius, went something like
'' when you are important, people wiil wait !''
riding a ruckus is quality , NOT quantity !! i have much faster machines at my disposal and none but none are so endearing as my zoomer , its innocense is a very appealing trait to me, and i dont want to spoil it !!

One of my cousins who's got a Har(d)ley asked if that was my toy, I was like, yeah, my 100 mile per gallon toy. He was like, mine gets fifty and goes 3 times as fast, so I replied with a simple, hey, you can get there fast, or you can get there in style.

OOHH!!! Now that we're back to this topic!!!! My stock 06 ruckus was dead even with my dads till about 65 km/h where i hit a big powerband up to 71 and blew past him
Now my 06 ruckus with the cam, intake, polini can blast past him on the top at around 75 km/h I still need to get the idle mixture right, i have a 2 second or so lag off the line and we are still tied at about 100 m's or so....
The only reason the Zumas are able to get a slight wheelie of the line is b/c the front end is so light, the ruckus will really struggle to wheelie due to all the wieght on the front wheels,
Really this is alright b/c the handling on the ruckus is much better

i was all set to buy the ruckus when i decided to get a scooter 2 weeks ago. that was until i got a little more info on the BW. For me, the BW won hands down. the disc brake up front and the motorcycle style seat were key selling points, not to mention the 2-stroke vs 4-stroke debate. for my needs a 2-stroke is ideal; i want more performance and the ability to make modifications after my warranty expires.
i test drove both scooters back to back starting with the Ruckus. the handling was a lot better but the BW beat it in every other category. i like the fact that the BW ride height is higher as well IMO makes it safer on the road. Even after all of this my gf made one final comment that put the nail in the Ruckus coffin. While I was test driving the dealer asked her what she thought and she said " the Ruckus looks like a mobile wheelchair."
The Ruckus was never able to recover.
1 week and 80km later, I'm still happy that I chose the BW. i'm going to switch to Boppers tomorrow which (i'm hoping) will improve the handling a little bit. Oh, and for the record I'm a Honda guy on most occasions. i had a civic si last year and I have an RSX Type S in the garage. Honda just couldn't get my money on this one. The Ruckus felt like a Nintendo Game Cube; all fun but no balls. The BW is a PS2 or an XBox IMO.
slay me if you must.

Wow, what a terrible girlfriend. I guess she'll match your terrible scooter. Enjoy the Zuma while you can. The Ruckii will still be running thousands of miles after that 2 stroke goes kaboom! ;D

i think both scooters are great at what they do. i have a lot of hills to contest with and i needed more hp and/or the ability to add performance parts. gf has me whipped....I think not. coming dear......

So true...I wish I had more time to go Zuma hunting. I think with the big bore we'd be similar off the line and I'd really start to pull ahead above 30mph..it's such a blast to not be the slowest vehicle on the road anymore.

timber , you said 'WAS faster.....' Yesss...... it still is faster on the top end and midrange, my right off the line blows chunks, otherwise id beat him hands down. I can catch up to him around 55km/h and he essentially gets a 2 second head start Stupid IMS screw

I'd say it's more the slow jet than the IMS screw because my IMS screw is so far off my scooter won't idle for more than 2 seconds but it rips as soon as I twist the throttle. The solution is probably more slow jet...I wish I had a 45.
Do you know how to get the IMS screwdriver? I could take my service manual into the dealer but other than that I don't know how. I tried Cdn. Tire but no dice.
