opinion... well zumas have disc brakes. 115 a side for forks and 110 for caliper two strokes are so 1977. however 70cc kits are available. 3.5 hp stock i read on yamaha site vs 4.5 ruckus. gotta mix oil after you figure out how to change the carb and get rid of the oil mixer thing that likes to tear up non-premix scoots. bws is the same as a zuma, right anyway ruckus is more expensive. my ruckus keeps up with kitted tomos mopeds and slightly slower than raptored tomos(85cc i think) at 180 lbs i wouldnt expect the bws to keep up with a ruckus(same weight) plus chicks dig the ruckus ;D

I've seen BWS's with 70cc kits doing slight wheelies of the line. I'm sorry but the Ruckus will never have that kind of take off power using the stock engine and available mods. The BWS is a wierd ride though. The seat slopes so you always feel like you are slipping off it and the leg room is tight. The Ruckus has more leg room and even better riding position when you add pegs. Also it just plain looks cooler and will (should) run forever as its a 4-stroke and a Honda to boot!

my friend just bought a stock bws whooped my "edit profanity" one on one , thing goes like 70km stock.
off the line i beat him then he overtakes me. he can even beat my "edit profanity" and my friends stock ruckus with(get this) his bws, his 200lb frame, and my 180lb friend on the back riding with him.
so bws WAY FASTER stock that is , mind you i have a cdi.
BUT his scooter is ugly as sin, and doesn't look cool.
pros and cons, I like my honda better he likes the look of mine better too but wants speed.

I've got a '99 Zuma, bought new. In '99 they were built in France and I was doing some business there and after seeing so many of them going like a sportsbike thru the narrow streets I had to have one. They're a two stroke and in small engines that is the way to go. Since I bought my Big Ruckus I've spent a lot less time on it but my lady thinks it's a blast and she has been riding most of her life. I wish the BR was a twostroke. It would be a real stump puller. The 250cc BR engine isn't 5 times as powerful as the 49cc Zuma. That said, they are both real blasts to own and ride.

then why are we all spending so much money trying to make it faster? cause if it's seen for too long it might captivate people and cause accidents

the BWS has about 6.3 BHP, compared to the rucki's 4.5. Same engine as the vino i believe. Leg room is awful though, tight sqeeze if your big(6ft and up)

(in europe at least)
BWs -> vertical engine air cooled Aerox -> horizontal engine liquid cooled (and can be mounted in a ruckus/zoomer)
so here's the solution, get a ruckus and put an aerox engine in it.

I don't know i like the 4cycle way better, i hate the smell of the 2 cycle and the busy noise is a turn off, lets just make the ruckus engine a little faster , we are on our way

I don't know i like the 4cycle way better, i hate the smell of the 2 cycle and the busy noise is a turn off, lets just make the ruckus engine a little faster , we are on our way here we don't have this kind of problem. engine swap = not street legal, so I'll probably do a minarelli zoomer next year starting with an empty frame, but it'll only be for meetings and shows. now the "street" zoomer will keep the stock engine so I'll still be in for further mods on it, once I get it I'll also check around me if I can have engine upgrades by myself along with the existing ones. (valve job, camshaft, gonna figure out how to mod the clutch and see if I can get the FI reprogrammed as it's the same software than regular honda FI vehicles) but to keep up with a modded minarelli, it'd cost tons on a zoomer/ruckus as a minarelli can get close to 20hp with the right mods/settings.

Every one complains about the ruckus engine, i however love the quietness of it and the smooth power delivery, we just need maybe one more horse and we should be OK

Hey, Chanito, I love the Ruckus in every way (except maybe the mirrors). It's great for what it's made for, and that's why I love it. And since I want to go faster, rather than trying to improve on near perfection, I'll just get something else. And hopefully have both.

There you that is a great alternative, i can't justify the expense of a seldom use vehicle, so i will just keep modding mine

Chanito knows best...I can't afford to pay insurance on two vehicles. It's actually kinda dumb that my rates would go up since I don't have theft or anything. Why would an insurance company charge more if I had two Ruckus's than one cuz it would just be 10k/year each on 2 bikes instead of 20k/year on one....scammers....
