I know, I know... people say there is nothing that can be done to get my 2003 Elite 80 going faster, but I KNOW there are parts that have to be adaptable. I read that a 22mm Mikuni carb will work, but the question is, for which bike? Also, I'd like to put on a better exhaust, airfilter, etc. I need people who know their scoots and what might work. If your Ruckus can do 55, then mine can too!!

I've ridden an older one.... I managed 52mph downhill 48-ish flat.

It goes 45 on flat, 50 downhill. What I don't get (and I'm new to scooters and such) is if a Ruckus 50 can be modified to go 55, then mine should do like 70 if I can modify it, right? I'm getting a service manual to see if I can put another exhaust on it. Till then tho.. can I just drill holes somewhere without having to worry about more complex things? I don't know my way around a carburetor!

Stock with like $800 worth of performance parts I doubt it will do 50mph.

Thanks for the help! The more I look at the Ruckus, the more I think that would have been the one to get! Oh well, live and learn....
