You need to visualize which way the variator spins and put the "padded" side opposite the direction of rotation so the rollers will have some "meat" against the wall. Capiche? BTW, how much top end did you loose? I lost about 2 mph until I switched to a KN and then gained back about 5mph.

i don't think you guys are putting those weights in there correctly. That plastic wears fast, I don't think the pad is there for protection, I looked in my manual and marked it the way i took the out because I was concerned about that. If you look at the manual it will show you, if you look closely at the diagram.

polini is flat on both sides, so it doesnt matter which way you put there weights in. I'm just going by the manual and I think Honda makes it.

IF that is the variator lying down and how you would put the weights in, I believe you are right.

yes if you are looking down toward the outer face you are right, once you put in on the scooter it will face the right way
