There was at one time a post on this subject, but I don't believe it had pictures, so here are mine. If you are into the jetting phase of modifying your Ruckus, and are annoyed at all the bolts you must remove to get the floorboard / "playpocket" surface out, try this: 1. Section the "playpocket" (under seat storage bottom panel) off the floorboard with a Dremel Tool or knife - take it slow. 2. Cover the raw edge with Door Edge Trim from Advance Auto or WalMart in black or chrome or whatever they have that you like. One strip (comes in twos) will cover both edges. It is only $3 for two. 3. Now you can take off the "playpocket" and tune to your heart's content or you wear out the carb float bowl screws, whichever comes first, and you still have the floorboard on.

Dremel tends to melt the plastic leaves a melted glob along the cut line you'll have trim off anyway. Plus it's impossible to maintain a straight cutting angle due to the different contours. I started with a dremel and finished with a serated razor knife. If you take your time you can skip the trim and you won't see the seperation unless you know it's there. ;D

;DSquirminator / Squirrel Killer (any relation to Spoon Killer?) / Phred is right, the Dremel does melt the plastic and requires trimming. You can see some evidence of it in my photos. And, I would have used a serrated knife if I had one sharp enough ...
Wait, no, I wouldn't have! Since any knife sharp enough to do the job right would have likely cut me, given my impatience and clumsiness, I purposely avoid them.
I did the sectioning with a Dremel cut-off wheel, and trimming with a Dremel smoothing bit. Not perfect, but mostly covered up by the Trim pieces.
And, no [glow=red,2,300]blood[/glow] was shed!!

uhh....yeah this is a weird spot to ask that but the answer is to get an aftermarket variator and 6gram roller weights. This will set you back almost a 100$ but you'll gain a couple miles per hour and get a moderate increase in accel.

This thread aught to be pinned as many rucksters out there would likely benefit from seeing this! Not everyone can afford a tank cover and footbars.
This mod also sets you up to shamelessly do a frame stretch. Great thing for the taller riders to get a better foot position.
