Leaking Oil!

Aaah, my friend dropped my Ruckus today

nothing major done to it, couple scratches on the peg but that's it. Those pegs on the side of it save the darn thing if its ever on its side, nothing else but the mirrors get damaged! Without them, the footboard and side of the scoot can get scratched pretty bad.

Anyways, back on topic.

My poor Ruckus leaked out oil when he dropped it out of the pink hose by the rear tire. What is this? Oil overflow?

Well I just went outside to put on my kickass Battlescooter.com sticker and I feel something wet under my foot. I look down and there is an about 2 square foot area of oil on the ground by the back tire!

aagh. Is this.. bad? I'll check the oil tomorrow. I actually think I went a bit over last time I changed it.

I need to get my scoot up to a dealer in Wichita for its last checkup before the warranty expires at the end of the month!

And abe or anybody else who's dealt with this issue... how much does a new rear tire cost? After 4500 miles my back tire looks like a slick its so bald and has been flat 3 times. It won't hold more than 20psi before it starts leaking out of the puncture holes that are sealed with SLIME tire sealant crap. If I'm at or under 20psi the tire doesn't leak though.

lots of issues!!! I''m loving my Daytona red shock! Wow, what about an inch (not sure of the size) lower makes! Its so much stiffer, damn such an improvement in the ride. I can take turns much faster too!

I'm going to say yes...2 ft squared of oil is probably pretty bad. Its like finding a cat in a puddle of its own 2 ft squared blood...and then saying "ehh...it'll be alright" The moral...make sure the oil level is spot on before taking off. Top off if necesarry.

What type of pegs do you have? I take a lot of 'S' twisties at over 30 mph and fear I'd spark 'em up pretty fast. Any issues?

black walmart bmx pegs.

Put them on and lean the bike over to the point where they would have to hit. There is no way you are going to lean that far unless you do it on purpose which I can hardly manage to do while trying.

Man, the stupid sucky-"edit profanity" Wal-Mart in Boone don't have no bicycle pegs... Jeez, the Wally here sucks! I keep forgettin' to look at KMart... but you know, if Wally doesn't have it, I doubt the beat up old KMart will... And I'm just too lazy to make it to the bike shop on the other side of campus... Too many redlights to get there...

The red hose is just there to collect blow by oil (oil wich past the piston rings) it is suppose to be empty once in a while just release the clamp and remove the plug at the end of it, drain it and reinstall the plug, for the look of it you just probably put too much oil on it, just drain it again and put .6 liters (a little more than half a quart)remember not to overtighten the drain plug. and if you remove the front plug to clean the screen use a torque wrench, becouse it breaks pretty easy, i know becouse i
broke mine the first time i changed the oil.

Ya, it is the drain for the airbox. If you get water or
oil from the breather in it that's where it comes out. No
big deal just clean out the airbox and add some more oil ;D
