Spot, Have you checked the headlight sockets twith a voltmeter to see that there is voltage coming through? Also, next thing to check is whether the hi/lo light switch is working - I would check where the switch slip joint connectors are, and with a Volt Ohm Meter or continuity tester make sure the switch is working. Make sure also that you have a good electrical connections to the lights and switch.
Also, I have seen ignition switches (from older bikes) that have many terminals on them, some of these turn on the lights, so you may have to check the switch to see that there are no bad connections.
Keep us posted and good luck.

I have a power probe- it tells you if there is power, or if it's grounded at a touch, and you can apply battery power, or ground with a press of a button. It might be the ignition switch, but that unit is bolted together. I need an electrical manual!

Spot,
Yeah, a shop manual would definitely help out. If I can think of anything else I will pass it on.

Update on the manual= I got my SPEEDWRENCH manual from ebay= this guy has digitized the factory helm manuals, and sells copies of the big ruckus manual for 32 bucks shipped. It comes bound in a folder, and looks like a page for page knockoff.
I ordered an aftermarket manual- speedwrench? I think they're helm knockoffs, I'll tell ruckdom if they're any good. They're selling on #bay for 32 bucks shipped.

Took forever to get registered; but finally worked. For info on sites that help any bike owner and in paticular the Rucki family of scoots check out the, Big Ruckus Talk area of the, www.totalruckus.com site. I have a list of useful sites at the beginning of that forum there. Look under manuals for the Helms, Inc site for manuals and parts catalogs. If you have any suggestions for sites PM me from that site or this one (only check my yahoo acct. once in a while, though) which I had to use to get on this site. I edit that list on the tr site.
