I have been looking for hand guards for the BG and my dealer suggested heated handlebar grips, they maintain that this is a better solution and very popular with their customers.
Has anyone had experience with these heated grips???

I have used them on snowmobiles and they are very nice but your hands are inside the cowl area not completely exposed like they are on a BR. I think you may be able to get them for ATV bars if they are the same size.

Hi gagetgirl, i already have this site bookmarked but thanks for the info. My dealer has removable heated handgrip covers that simply fit over the grips and velcro in place, they have a non slip surface and seem to work well, the big advantage is that they are easily removable when not needed. If you are interested i will get the product info for you. I have decided that the hand guards are too expensive and probably overkill for our west coast winters. I have just bought a pair of Tour Master Winter Gloves and they are extremely comfortable and very warm at around 4-5 degs. C, I can thoroughly recommend these gloves.

If they are the Aerostitch ones, by any chance, I have read that while they are great, they can get too hot and then need to be removed. Also read something about wires blowin' in the wind. Don't know, but I would definately be interested in more information. Thanks.

Hi Gagetgirl, The heated overgrips are manufactured by Oxford and the name of the product is Hothands. My dealer claims that Oxford has a very good name for quality and that these overgrips are very popular. We tried them on a Big Ruckus in the showroom and they are a good fit, the big advantage is that they are easy to removed when not needed, just unplug them and stow them away. As you will see from the pdf brochure there is a heat control switch available as an option. Here is the web site and you will find them under winter gear. www.oxprod.com/I am sure that your dealer could get them for you if you are interested, the retail price is around $100.00 CA.

Hi Silverwind:
Thanks for the info. I checked them out and they look like a pretty good option. I just might get a pair.

Yes, gagetgirl i think they are a very viable option and what i like is the fact that they fit over the existing grips, the switch can be positioned in a convenient location on the handlebars and the overgrips can be turned off if they do get too hot, or you can buy the optional temperature control switch. It is almost Spring here on the coast so it is a little late for the grips this year but i will probably buy them for next winter, certainly cheaper than the hand guards, although the combination would probably be ideal for you in the Peg!!! Cheers.
