I know you wont be able to e-start it but will everything else work like lights...i feel like losing the battery will significantly reduce weight and give more speed. what do you think?

Your electronics wouldn't work the same without it. It would be a pain if it stalled at a light (Putting it on the stand to kick it while cars are waiting/honking behind you.). The weight that you save from dropping the battery would be pretty nominal. The are way more cons than pros.
Unless of course you figured out a way to put a compartment there...like a glove box...then it would be TOTALLY worth it! ha ha!

interesting idea, i feel like if it is stalling at lights, i would fix that problem first.
could you list more cons...besides the inability to e-start?

Your lights will dim to almost nothing at idle. Your turn signals won't work sitting at red lights unless you hold the brake and twist the throttle. I guess if you can live with these things then go for it. I just don't think it's worth the slight weight loss. There are many other ways to shave weight than ditching your battery.

8-)The battery is an accumulator and a power shock absorver, without it you will likelly be able to run the engine, but the power will go up so much at full trhottle and come down significantly at idle that it will be very bad for al those electronically controlled systems, and more likelly end up frying the ECM and most switches, i do not think is a good idea, you will be better off just adapting a lighter smaller battery

I just bought an '04 Ruckus and the only problem with it is a dead battery (and missing stock mirrors). I don't mind kicking it every time to save the $60 for a new one, but you said that the differing voltages could harm the electrical systems, which I don't want. The battery still holds a little charge, but the lights do dim significantly when I'm idling. Will I need to replace it to keep the electrical systems working well?
BTW, I paid $1350 for an '04 with 200 miles. Is this a bad deal?

With only 200 miles, unless those two hundred miles were spent mud bogging, then I don't think that was a bad deal.
Don't let other people finding better deals get you down.

I ran a battery elim on my 03 and it got real old real fast. Not worth the hassle for a few lbs. Just stop going to Mc. D's.
Unless you're building a pure racer it's a waste.

Supposedly bad stuff can happen if you don't have a battery but I'm not sure what. If you must do something your best off spending $56 for the YUASA YT4B-BS battery which weighs half of the stock battery or use the Battery Elim IHAR mentioned. I'd just leave the stock battery in place.

I ran my ruckus for 3 years without a battery never had a problem bought it with motor seized and never had a battery bought a new stock motor clean the tank replaced the lines and fuel filter with fuel pump kickstarted first try every time and never died down on me once idle was set never even after doing wheelies and bizarre dumb stuff used to ride out 2-3 hours away doing backroad trips and it never failed me

If you happen to run completely out of gas or lose fuel pressure, even after adding gas it will then become nearly impossible to start without a battery or a jump start due to the fact the Ruckus has an electric fuel pump. Ask me how I know...
