A while back I saw pics of some one that had swapped a 150 out of a elite into a ruckus and now i cant find anything about it. Dose any one know where i can find the info on it, and possibly who owns it so i can ask them some questions?
Thanks

The Battlescooter of battlescooter.com used to run a 150, but he switched back to a stocker.

The problem with the CH150 motor is that it's a vertical motor (piston moves up and down) and you really want a horizontal motor (piston moves forwards/backwards) so that it doesn't protrude way up through your floorboard. Maybe that looks cool to you but IMO it looks much better if you select a horizontal motor for your swap so you can leave the floorboard intact.
Most of the swaps being done or being talking about using either the GY6 engine which is a old Honda design from the 70's that they no longer use but most of the cheap chinese scooters use imitations of this engine so you can buy an engine for cheap (ie. $350 new) and then get all the parts to run it for under $700 for sure. It's still a lot of work because you need to figure out the wiring and fabricate and engine mounting bracket but it would be similarly fast as the CH150 motor and an easier/cleaner install.
The other motor being talked about is the 100cc 2-stroke motor from the Yamaha Grand Axis / BWS 100. It should be good for 60mph also and you can get new Grand Axis scooters if you drive down to mexico or you can get them imported (used) for about $1200 which includes basically everything you need.
Alternatively, you could go pick a totally different engine. Any 80-250cc horizontal scooter engine is a decent choice although the older motors are generally simpler so that makes the job easier if that's what you're looking for.

I wanted to know because i just picked up an elite 150 for $300 and i wanted to my my ruck go faster. I thought about riding the elite but its ugly as sin. I would like to learn more about the GY6 swap. I might sell the elite to get parts for the swap.

The GY6 swap is nice because it's a horizontal engine and it's low tech so it's easy to wire up.

Ok so im about to pick up a met and i want to put a ch150 in it i will most likely put a ruck rear frame on it. Will the met liquid cool sysyem work on the ch150? Will the wiring? How much of an issue will the different motor configuration be? Are there better swap iddas? Really dont want to go gy6

I have two CH150's and I love the power and how cheap it is on fuel.. Found a cheap Ruckus $500, so I'm going to do the swap~
