I just bought two, having put more than a hundred miles on mine in less than a week. I am 6'5", 260, and just love this bike. I like the styling; the typical Honda fit, finish, and reliability; it is not a rocket. but suites me fine. Another question - I tend to keep my speed down to under 35 becuase I am thinking that I will get longer life of my motor....right or wrong....?

I got my Ruckus because it's the coolest looking scooter available.
I ride mine full throttle almost everywhere I take it and it doesn't seem to mind it.
1150 miles on it now.

Chose a Ruckus because it reminded me of the old Rupp minibike I had some years ago. Had looked at the Zuma, but liked the 4 cycle engine, & the longer wheelbase on the Ruckus. Have 1300 miles on it since April. Easy on the throttle & under 30 for the first 100 miles. From 100 to 300 eased it up to 35. After 300 eased it on up to the upper 30's...37-38. Made it a point to stay off of full throttle. Had a bit over 500 before regularly holding wide open throttle. Figured the idea was to break it in, not just break it. Don't think I'll ever be sorry for taking it easy getting it broke in.

I choose the ruckus becouse i hate the smell of two cicle engines, and i love the fact that is water cooled and the timing is electronically controled, that should make it last long, the engine have been designed with wide open throttle operation in mind, so running it that way should not affect the engine much, just make shure to change oil regularly and check the coolant

After viewing the Battlescooter web site and this great forum for a couple of weeks I got the Ruck bug. My local Honda dealer had sold his last Ruckus, a red '03 (sat in the store 15 mo.) in early July but the new owner was considering selling it. Long story short, I got it! I've been a grinning, riding idiot ever since. I also own a Silver Wing scoot, two old Cushman trucksters, a 450 Rebel and '94 600 Shadow (orig. owner). I love 'em all!

It's too cute not to have. I wish I could have found a '04 in Yellow but I love the '03 in Red. I had a Helix for 17yrs and needed another scooter. 1/2 mile to go feed the cows. I also have a Honda Valk with 1520cc's quite a contrast. Now I need to accessorize, ride safe and keep the rubber side down, Gary in NW WA. ;D

The Ruckus is such a little jewel. It's the only scooter I will ride, other than an Elite with all the plastic removed I still think it's best left stock but I'm a guy and guys like taking things apart

Looked at a Zuma, Vespa, Metropolitan-but went with my first choice primarily because I liked the clean 4stroke engine, the design and "look" of the Ruckus-and the big fat tires were a big safety feature to boot when I thought of the pot holes around town.
Even the guys in my husbands Harley Shop liked the look of the Ruckus.
