Go to www.freetrip.com. Then under preferences click on 'scenic route'. That should keep you off the major highways. I haven't actually used the scenic route option yet but hopefully it'll work for you. - Dan

give your local mot (ministry of transportation) office a call. i'm pretty sure one of my buddies did and the conclusion that we can to was that any motorbike (or scooter) over 100cc (we thought the low limit was 250cc) can ride on any road in canada and that my ruckus (under 100cc) can ride on any road in ontario except any road with a '400' designation (ie. 401,404,403, 407, you get the idea (for people not located in the southern ontario area (that's where the '400' series of roads are located), these roads are multi-lane (ussually 3-4 and up to 10 lanes in one direction)divided roads with a speed limit of 100 kph (and everyone cruises at 120kph))). this means that i could theoretically ride my scooter coast to coast on the trans-canada hwy (hwy 1) which has a max speed limit of 90 kph. this would be a story... traversing one of the worlds largest countries... on a ruckus. ps. i ride my ruckus on roads (one lane each direction) rated at 80 and 90 kph out here in suburbia (i do my best to stay in multi-lane roads, so people have the option of passing me, but some roads in suburbia and the country side are just not built like that). if you get stuck behind me, tough (yeah, i know, it's not that comfortable, but whatcha gonna do?).
