I got my ruckus just over a year ago. I was really really happy about it and all that good stuff. Then about six months later i got on it to ride and it wouldnt start i took it to honda, and they said the fuel system had a little dirt in it. I was like ok thats under standable. Then a little later the kickstart engages while ridging and starts to click just a little under a load. Now, the starter dosent always work i have to push it alot or kick start it even tho the battery is fully charged. Then I was a freinds house i go to put the key in the ignition and the damn thing wont turn, so I replaced that. Now the scooter wont start agian, im pretty sure its an electrical thing. The fuel pump isnt working i think. So im wondering IF, when you guys turn on your ignition Does your ECM make a high pitched sound, and does your fuel pump click a couple of times as if were priming the engine right when you turn it on. Also when i press my starter button my gas warning light comes on for a second then shuts off as if it were short circuting. Im REALLY disapointed in hondas quality control at this point.

i had the same ignition problem as you after I had my ruckus for only 2 months. My dealer however replaced this same day and told me they've had to replace the ignition on nearly every Ruckus and Jazz scooter they've sold.
Glad to say I haven't had any of the other issues you've ran into. But I'm sorry to hear you've had so many problems.

Sorry to here about the troubles. One problem with small batteries and bikes is that the charging system needs time to recover from starting. The rule of thumb is 15 minutes if riding to recover from a normal startup. Do you think your getting 15min The fuel pump will only pump to prime an empty carb. You may here a pump, pump but that's about it. If you remove the fuel line from the carb and crank the engine gas should squirt out. Hope this helps. If you need help sorting it out Email and I could lend a hand.

I was doing some trouble shooting in my garage and figured that it was a fuel problem. I did do that and cranked it over but no gas came out of the hose. Im kinda getting worried that i will half to replace my ECM $$$ big bucks. When the engine does run It will only run for awhile as if it were overheating, and when i give it throttle it bogs down a little then it might rev up. And when it does rev up it will not return to idle Which is very low and weak. The engine wont idle until I pull the rear brake.

The engine wont idle until I pull the rear brake. ???That's odd. So no fuel when you crank it? Have you checked the pump? Remove it but leave the wires connected. See if you can get it to pump some fuel out of a cup or something.

Its Running and it was the fuel pump Some how something got into it and seized it up, No idea how that could have happened. But i do have another one on the way though. I also got my maintince manuel today. I have a gas tank from a lawnmower on the back of the scooter so gravity is doing the work of the fuel pump. The hose goes throught the idle adjust hole for now.
