i was wondering if u have to oil up the spacer on the the variator or not..

no you want to coat the spacer with grease no oil as it can get into the roller area, and you do not want any lube in the ramps or roller

just the metal spacer...its like a 2" metal tube that goes in between the plates and I only lube the inside 1/3 where the inner ramp part spins on it.

I'm curious. Will damage be done if its not lubed? The Honda manual didn't mention lube in the instructions so I didn't add any. Maybe this is a case of better if you do, ok if you don't?? Hope so.

Yeah I'd say it's a 'better if you do, okay if you don't' kinda situation. I've done both and not really noticed a difference.

when i took it apart ..the factory didnt use grese or oil of any kind...

That spacer is polish so in theory it should have little friction to worry about, however it is still metal to metal so in my humble opinion it is a good idea to provide lubrication for its operation

i was spinning it around with my hand and it doesnt even seem like it needs lube...its so slippery already with out it....i finally got the fighter kevlar belt on my ruck....wd-40d the clutch bolt came right off ;D

my polini has a little rubber spacer on the front side that holds it there, prevents the two pieces from rubbing together

i finally got the fighter kevlar belt on my ruck.... How's that working out for you? I imagine any difference is unnoticable but it might back your power delivery 1 or 2% more efficient.

yea i notice alittle more power and more throttle response..over all im happy with it and the new variator...goes about 37-39mph
