Yeah timber knows his gear oil. The official Honda stuff is a waste of money because it's midrange stuff and premium end prices. Just hit up any large automotive store. Mine just says SAE 90.

Yeah any good stuff should have the nozzle point. I think most of them actually come to a point and you need to cut the tip off to make your own hole. That way you can get one that fits nicely.
How many miles do you have on your Ruckus? I think the service manual says you only need to change it every 10,000 or so but I'm not sure.
A good way to change the gear oil is to remove the 7 bolts that hold the unit on and pull it off (after you've pulled off the rear wheel). This way you can get all the old oil out but you will need more sealant to seal it back on.
The easier/cheater way to do it is to first go for a ride so the oil is heated up and is A LOT easier to pour out. Then remove the drain bolt and tip your scooter way over to drain as much as possible. To refill it just squirt a heck of a lot in there so it's higher than the bottom of the drain hole. Then just use a rag/container to catch the drips until it stops dripping. You want the fluid level right at the bottom of the bolt hole so that's an easy way to do it.
