Just curious if there is transmission fluid for the Ruck, took a look at my manual and didnt see anything. I know that when i changed the fluid in my Vino, performance went up, but that was after about 3000 km's, anyways anyone know where it is, i'm assuming we gotta change it sooner or later

There is 0.1L (0.025 gallon roughly) of gear oil behind the clutch in the gears back there. You'll notice a 12mm bolt than says 0.1L beside it right behind the variator cover. You just fill this up with gear oil until it's level to the bottom of the bolt hole.

uhh....not 10w30. The manual recommends some wierd Honda gear oil but any gear oil should be fine. We're talking pretty thick stuff here like 30w90 maybe? I don't really know my gear oils but I think there's a 90 in the number. Anything thick and intended for gears should be ok I'd imagine. It usually comes in maybe a 1 litre bottle with comes to a fine point and you can squeeze it out.

You should drain it. It gets pretty lumpy/soupy and it stinks. It's kinda hard to drain though. I did it once but I forget how....I might have learning the scoot way over with the bolt out. The best way to do it is to remove the muffler, rear wheel and final reduction cover (where all the gears etc. are behind the clutch) and then all the oil will just fall out, then put the cover back on and fill it up to the bottom of the bolt hole.

hmm...I just checked what the viscosity of the gear oil I put in my Ruckus is and it turns out its 95w135. I guess that's pretty thick stuff. Maybe I'll pick up some SAE 90 stuff this week.
