Hey All, I have a 2003 Honda Metropolitan that surges from half throttle to WOT.
I've checked for air leaks and found none. Actually seems like the scooter wants more air. When I have it up on the center stand and give it full throttle and loosen the air filter cover it smooths out a little bit. Opposite of what I thought would happen. I've replaced the air filter with a new OEM one. Put in new spark plug with the iridium version of whatever stock is. Replaced the fuel pump with new OEM one. I've also cleaned out the variator and noticed that the roller weighs have some flat spots from not rolling anymore. Doubt that would cause so much trouble though. Cleaned the carb a couple times now. Checked the oil level and it's within spec. Tested the float needle valve and it seemed fine.
Been looking at different forums to try and figure this out but haven't found anything that has helped so far.
Any and all suggestions on where to go from here are appreciated.
