Bought a non-running 2008 Ruckus NPS50. The issue that the previous owner shared was that the ignition wiring need replacing. When I opened the bike up, I found that the ignition switch wires were not connected. The fuse holder connection for the positive wire was broken to the point that you could not connect to the battery. I decided to purchase a new wiring harness from the dealer (complete wire harness from Honda at $225). I replaced the wire harness and connected all wiring. Turned on the key and nothing! No lights, no fuel pump initiation, no nothing. The new wiring harness came with new fuses, but did not include new relays. I ordered all new relays (two black, one blue). After replacing them, no power still. I then took the batter into Autozone for a load test. The battery failed (even though the previous owner told me it was a new battery). I purchased a brand new battery that still reads 12.62 volts when installed on the bike. The ground is good because when I tested the battery, I connected to the positive terminal, and the negative lead to the fuel cap when connecting the multi-meter. I am new to the Ruckus, but I would assume that I would have lights and initiation noises at this point. What else could be the problem? I have a new fuel pump coming today, but I do not think changing that out will affect the electric problem. Any ideas? Please help! I really do not want to take this to a shop, but I am running out of options.
Thanks! Ken
