Hello everyone I am new to this forum. I have a 2012 Honda ruckus that I've owned for about a year and a half. It has been a great bike during that time and I have put about 1200 miles on it. It recently started acting up and would start at first, but then die, and then wont fire. When I keep the start button pressed for 30-60 seconds it has a 50/50 chance of starting or me giving up. Im afraid of ruining my starter using it so much. Yesterday it would not start at all and last night I did the following...
-cleaned carb, was not dirty -cleaned jets, can see light through both -drained and cleaned gas tank -replaced fuel pump and filter -confirmed gas was getting to carb -replaced spark plug brand new -blew out air box and filter, not that dirty
When I put it all back together last night it was about 60 degrees out F and it would turn over but not run. I was disgusted and perplexed. Now this morning, temp is 70, sun is out, and it returned to previous strange behavior, starts at first, can throttle it up, but it dies and won't start again. I feel like I can smell gas too, but I'm not sure if it was related.
I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone can offer. I'm a decent small engine mechanic and this has me baffled.
Thanks-

I have cleaned my carb and jets five times in the last week. I kept thinking there were obstructions in fuel line. Added half can of sea foam. It will run great for a bit. Then I let it sit for the night. Then I start it next day, it fires, warm it up, open it up, gently idle it down, it dies, and won't start again. Have adjusted idle valve. Come on scooter people, some ideas please...

I’m afraid I’m having similar issues. Replaced the filter and the pump. New battery is ordered and the current is on a tender and there’s power. I’ve also ordered some wire tools to help in cleaning the carb but I really hoped it wouldn’t come to that. If it starts at all it runs for 5-7 seconds at best. Not sure what to do. It’s a 2o15 with less than 2k
