Found this forum googling my ruckus symptoms. None of the threads really matched what I have going on so I figured I’d start a new one. 2012 stock ruckus. Bought it a few months ago with 900 miles, it now has 1600. A few days ago on my ride home the temp light flickered a couple times then stayed off. I checked all of the obvious(fluid levels, tire pressure etc) all good so I flushed the coolant and added new. Went for a ride and it stayed off. This morning on my way to work it flickered a few times again. This was after about 5 miles and would only flicker at full throttle. The second I let off it would turn off. On my home stretch(which is a 25 mph) it was bogging quit a bit but only at slow speed. When I would get past 20 mph, it seemed to run fine. It doesn’t seem like it’s actually overheating. Doesn’t smell or feel hot and hasn’t gone into “limp mode”. It actually runs great at full throttle. Any ideas? Are the 2 problems related or do I have two separate isssues? Thanks!

That flicker could be a few things. All non point issues. I would really only worry if it comes on and stays on. As for the bogging. The first thing I always do after getting a used bike with a carb is break the carb down and give it a good cleaning. Just make sure to avoid getting the cleaner on your seals or electronic controls. Also, with any used transport, I change the oil, even if it looks good. That way, I maintain my own maintenance schedule and not the previous owners word. You indicate that you purchased it in stock form. Have you since added any mods? Take these two easy steps and let us know if it resolves the issue. If not, happy to brainstorm further. Oh! And make sure your intake filter is clean! Good luck.
