Just bought an 09 ruckus two weeks ago. 1600 miles on it. When I bought it it had and still has an aftermarket exhaust pollini roller weights cold air intake 38/80 jets. Everything worked great when I bought it (except the battery which I replaced). It was very dirty and dusty so I cleaned the filters properly w a k&n kit and blew out as much dirt and stuff off the engine w an air compressor. Once I did this it’s hard to hold an idle. I tried adjusting the idle screw and it idles if it’s at high idle but then will buck up and down but still stay idling. Then I’ll lower the idle and it will level out then die. While riding it will go normal but stall when I stop. So I cleaned out the carb which looked pretty good all the holes on the jets were open. I changed the plug to an iridium plug. And I also added the ncy cdi, which I installed direct to the coil. NOW LOL it does the same thing nothing changed. And now while riding it seems like it’s misfiring at mid throttle and struggling at high throttle. I haven’t noticed a change with installing the cdi beside the misfiring and almost seems like it’s gonna backfire, but haven’t noticed an increase in speed. If anything it seems like it’s lagging more. Please help! Also noticed that with the cdi installed, while idling if I Hit the kill switch it will idle actually better than when the kill switch is in the run position. Let me know anything guys! Going nuts here. Please and thank you!
