I bought a 2016 Ruckus new from the dealership this winter and I just got the chance to take it out for a ride this month. It starts easily and idles fine, but after giving it more than 1/4 throttle or so it gives out, goes back to idle, and almost dies. I called the dealer and they said it was probably a dirty carb from old gas. I think this is unlikely seeing as the problem occurred before any milage had been put on it whatsoever. The nearest honda dealer is ~500km from where I live so I don't want to make a special trip to take it in. I did some looking around and found that the vacuum line going to the top of the carb was dangling off, but after I reattached it the problem continued. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I had this same problem and what I did is I changed both of the jets in the carb and I haven't had any problems since then. It's fairly easy to change the jets in your carb there's a lot of videos online. I hope this works!

The problem is probably one of two things
1- The emissions system at the back right hand corner of the bike (called I thing the PVC) is not functioning properly 2- Carburetor problem. Some times if you had bad gas it takes 2 to 3 cleanings of the carb. to get it functioning correctly. When cleaning it go to 99cent store and gas treatment /cleaning stuff (use 2) and soak the carb. for a night then perform the cleaning.
