SORRY, no Pics, but Mitzie and I went over and met with Jeff, our local Honda Dealership Owner for a Road Test on both the new Honda Scooters (I had previously ridden the 150i). Both are really impressive, especially (IMO) the 110..... ;D
First, the 150i..... First impression is the distinct "Big Wheel" looks...You either do, or don't like the look. It is growing on me, but I'm not quite there yet. Dislikes first.....No storage, even under the seat...really stiffly sprung, great for aggressive twisty riding, but very harsh on bumps...Kinda' locked in to one seating position, no place to put Your feet up at an angle, flat floor only...at 60 MPH a lota' air turbulance (tiny windshield, and seat/foot position doesn't afford very comfy tuck position)...Very Tall Seat Height.......
Now Likes......67 MPH top speed with my 165 lbs on it, 60 MPH with my 243 lbs Dealer on it...Very Comfy Seat material and Shape...Only loses about 5 MPH top speed with two people on board...Linked Brakes...hydraulic disc front...mirror sight...instrument layout including gas guage...hold a line through a corner at 75% full lean (good, but could be better)...about 70 MPG
Now, the 110 Elite.....First the Dislikes...OK, now that we got that out of the way, let's move on to the "LIKES".....
Likes..... Fantastic speed and power in a 90+ MPG Small, Light Scooter...54 MPH with me, 50 MPH with my Dealer (and gets there very quickly)...Fastest 0 to 40 MPH under 150cc scooter I've ridden to date...Super Large underseat, locked storage area, Locked, two compartment glove box...Large rear rack with net pegs...Full instrumentation including temp guage and gas guage...Large super comfy seat, even for a passenger...Same top speed with a passenger, just a tick longer to get there...Great cowl aerodynamics, no buffeting at my height even at top speed...Tilt foot, or Flat foot floorboard...Weather-proof key lock (has a closeable shroud over key hole, also good theft deterrant)...Fuel Injection...Engine looks like an Oversize Ruckus Engine/Trans/Swingarm assembly...Great hydraulic Forks, Rear Shocks...Linked Brakes on left lever, front only for Sport Bike-Type trail braking on right lever (Super powerful, short-stopping distances on both brakes)...Longer handlebar grips...Looks like a Shrunken Silver Wing (obviously I like this look due to a 3-time ownership of 'Wings)...Best handling Small Scooter through the twisties I have EVER ridden...total point and shoot, never wavers off the line You chose, unless You make it, and changing lines mid-corner is a breeze requiring very little countersteering input...Very good, roomy ergonomics for someone my size...Low Seat Height.....
Shoot Out Tests......Everyone really liked the 110 Elite overall much better, and the first scooter I've ridden that actually exceeded my high expectations in EVERY CATAGORY......Gota' have one of these in my garage......... ;D ;D ;D
