i have an 09 ruckus and my girl has an 07 metro. i read at 1000 miles, its a good idea to change the gear oil. were at those miles now. changed the oil. where is the drain plug for the trans oil?how about the metro? thanks...

I can't tell you off the top of my head, but they should be in the same place.

It's on the back end of the housing for the variator and clutch, I believe. Just a small plug.

I have a service manual for 03-09 nothing in the maintenance section 4 say anything about changing gear oil. My 08 has 6k no sign of any gear leaks so I'll just leave it be, there is a plug down by the engine breather tube on the trans.that has a stamp OIL that you can check for full, but I would leave alone if you see no sign of gear oil leak. There is no drain plug for gear oil, so that would tell me no service is required. Change your engine oils at 600 mi, ruck &met ,and they should stay health for a very long time. Richard
