Ruckus at 3000 miles.....

Hi,

I bought a used '06 ruckus this last fall and now I'm at 3000 miles. I changed the oil at 2800 miles and new air filter and new spark plug. I'm gonna check my breaks too and see how they look. Was wondering about the drive belt--picked one up but was wondering if it needs changing. anything else i should check out? Seemed a lil' spunkier w/the air filter and spark plug change but it's been running pretty well b4 the changes. Just wanna take care of her--how 'bout flushing the radiator and refilling that?

Hi Kris,
You might want to check the weights and replace them if they are flat-sided. If it does not go about 40mph with good weights then I would change the belt. The other things you might want to check are the oil in the gear case and the plastic hose attached to the gear case for any liquid that needs to be drained out by the plug in the end. The only other thing to check would be the wheel bearings. The how-to and maintence threads will tell you how to check or make repairs.
