Having issues with my ruck when it's cold so I read through a bunch of posts. Just took ruck out of winter storage so first thought is the carb / fuel system is plugged up.
Lots of posts talk about tearing down the carb to clean & using 'Sea Foam'. I'm not lazy but I like to try simple first. What about a fuel system cleaner that goes into the tank (i.e. Gumout)? I realize the cleaning isn't as thorough but I'm thinking that the residue should begin to clear out after a few good runs.
And long term...anyone run cleaner through on a regular basis just to keep the fuel system clean? Some of the post both here and on other boards imply that a tear down / cleaning might be needed as often as every 2-3000 miles. Seems like a lot. A bottle of cleaner runs ~$4 and treats 15 gals. That should last me the summer if I run it every other fill up. Thoughts???
Thanks for reading this...

I always run some carb cleaner through after winter storage as insurance. However I don't seem to any issues post winter storage. There is no harm in trying treating the fuel first, especailly if its otherwise basicly rideable. There does not seem to be any harm in making the treatment on the strong side. I run one bottle over two tankfuls.
