GIVI SR28 Top Box Mount Installation

Not much way to beat the lockable, waterproof storage of a GIVI top box for your Ruckus. GIVI also makes a great mounting bracket for the box also. Another nice thing about GIVI is every box will "click-onto" your mounting bracket, no matter which size box or boxes you choose. We generally use the E30 (30 ltr capacity) boxes, but my huge E47 (47 ltr capacity) fits right on if you choose to take an extended road trip on your Ruckus.

The mounting bracket kit is part # SR28. The instructions tell you to assemble each side onto the scooter, but having done some of these, I've discovered the best way to do it is to assemble the parts completely leaving all of the hardware loose. Well, let's begin...........

The part number is SR28.....



Parts in the box.....



Hardware and instructions.....



This part is what you bolt to your tailight bracket after removing the center bolt.....



It will look like this mounted.....



The two sides have a male and female end on them.....



They assemble like this.....





Next you need the crossbrace and this hardware.....



They go where my thumb is.....



The center hole is for attatching the crossbrace to the tailight mount.....



It mounts like this.....



You will need these screws, washers, and spacers for mounting through the seat frame mount bosses.....





They bolt on here like this after removing the stock seat mount bolts.....



The finished product complete with an E30 box for those long straight cruises or commutes.





Put one of these set-ups on your Ruckus and you're ready for most everything......See Ya', skuuter............ ;D

You can add this E103 padded backrest for really plush comfort on longer rides.....

YES.....it will work with a lowered seat frame, because it attatches to the frame bosses for the seat frame, and the tailight bracket. I have a lowered seat frame ordered right now, along with a shock............. ;D

As far as I know, it should fit all of them. I think all of them regardless of year are identical at the attatchment points..... ;D

Cool. Thanks! Got one on order for the wife's Ruckus. She turned 50 last week and when I asked her what she wanted for her B-day present she gave me a list of Ruckus goodies. She's been riding two weeks now and is asking if there is a way to make her Ruckus faster. I told her to be patient. :-)

Yes it does...also better in the rain. I just added a lowered seat frame and can almost tuck behind it........ ;D

Now since the GIVI box snaps on, whats to keep people from just pulling it off the rack?

The lock that locks the box also locks the button to remove.

Does the Givi box affect speed or handling in any noticeable way? Also, if I am understanding the pictures correctly, once you install the sr28 mounting rack, there is a choice of Givi boxes available. I guess you could also leave the mounting rack in place and just use some tie downs in order to hold stuff. Am I understanding this correctly?
