Would there be any bed effects of mixing synthetic and regular engine oil? I ask because I have two partial bottles of MOTUL 10W30, and the recommended regular oil. I need to change my oil ASAP, but I am waiting for order from BSS with more MOTUL (which I prefer), and I don't want to wait more than a few days to change my oil. Is there any reason I can't combine the two?

Unless you're planning on putting a couple hundred miles on the bike before you get your oil, I would just wait. Or, you could always pick up a quart of oil at the store to change it if you're worried, and then just change that out when your MOTUL comes in.

Different folks will tell you different stuff about mixing Syn and Conventional Oils, but the mechanic friends that I know always recommend to NOT mix the two! I'd probably just wait until you get your MOTUL or just change it with some cheap Conventional oil for the time being until your Synthetic comes.
Personally, I run either 10w-40 Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntec in my Ruckus and have been pleased with either one. I do run MOTUL 2 stroke oil in my Polaris Jetski and Sea Doo Challenger Boat and love it!

do not mix them. when i worked at a bike shop we had a 2 stroke dirt bike come in and he mixed them blow the motor right up needed top end and crank and its the same way with 4 strokes so do not do it unless you wanna put $900 down on your motor.

Im sorry... ya can... oil is going to function as oil... syn or reg... (yes i know there is a difference between the two, im talking on a basic functioning level) what do you think a "synthetic blend" is? Syn oil is regular oil that has been filtered alot better and alot more syn (man-made) additives... I dont suggest mixing... your basically diluting syn oil... I've done it in a pinch when I could get royal purple for my GSR...
All in all... Ya can... not recommended but it will get ya by... like running your Ferrari on reg gas instead of premium... Wont hurt if ya dont let it ping...

Synthetic and dino oils are fully compatible. If you want to learn more than you ever wanted about motor oil, lubrication etc. check out www.bobistheoliguy.com There is a motorcycle section there however I did a search for "Ruckus" and there are no posts on the Ruckus as of yet. Typically motorcycles are tough on oil since the gearbox typically shares the same oil as the engine and this result in shearing of the oil out of grade. Oil was a 10w-40 so after XYZ miles it's now a 10w-30 or even down to 20wt. The Ruckus is a different beast and probably the bigger issue for them than running a high end spendy oil is air intake leaks since this will wear out the top end before it's time.
