"CAMOTE" The metro got sold right away. "KATRINA" I still have, I got her running but the long period of time that she did not run got her carb mess up, I clean it but it still have a little miss off idle, I think some of the small passages got clog and I could not get them clean (I hate alcohol on the gas) so I will need to get a new carb when I decide to run her more often

With great sadness today I sold Katrina to a young tech on my dealer, it broke my hearth to hear him talking about stretching the scooter and installing ape hangers. This little scooter has been the vehicle I cherish the most, the passion I felt for her is hard to explain, such a small slow vehicle should have been the least likely to capture my hearth the way it did, as I have always love fast sports car and spent a good portion of my professional career working on them. But. this charming little scooter allow me to belong to this wonderful community of scooter lovers, let me share my technical knowledge and even spend a good deal of time and money on understanding most of the incredible amount of new technology Honda put on this small scooter, which we all discovered together back at the beginning of the century, well before the "ruckus" become the icon it is now. I know I will miss my little "Katrina" even more than now, for a couple of year I have not ride her, but I could still look at her once in a while. I already miss the wonderful rides with my wife and her "camote" and those incredible and amazing rides at the smokies. So long little yellow scooter. To me you will always be Katrina, the scooter that survived three hurricanes on a year

Wow...end of an era there Chanito. That must have been tough to see her go. How many miles did you get on her?
I'm on my third Ruckus now (2010-present) and it's been great being back in the saddle. Maybe one day you'll wind up with another Ruck too.
It's been great following the story of Katrina over the years, from the humble beginnings to the hurricane and beyond.
Best, Dan
