Very nice! That's a cool speedo gauge...I like how it shows you what it's restricted too yet hints at what it's capable of. How's it running these days? How fast can you go?

we do have stupid size plates! over a big bump the zoomer will easily touch plate and mudguard, but the fuzz(police) are very fussy about people cutting down their plates. the light you see on the speedo is the same one which comes on aft around 10 mins ,will go off if the key is flicked on/off,but will return.and when stationary it will flash a code, in my instance code 21 2 long flashes=2 1 quick flash=1 then a pause, and repeats the code. hope you are reading this dan!!! honda f.i new owner! the most i have had from elsie is 45mph,on the limiter. the polini kit will give a higher limit, and that with the metro gear kit and chanito's big bore pistoni should be able to break 80mph(when riding on a trailer towed by a corvette)but seriously 50mph is enough on a bike of this type.best with a tailwind.. its not the lightest zoomer as it had to be usable more than anything.but i still think its a funky machine for it. here is the lambda sensor which looks spookily like a spark plug screwed into the exhaust, and as you can see the unbelievably crappy soldering that a retard did to my beautiful yoshi. the bung itself was a work of art, till solderall got hold of it.. here is another shot of the speedo and my clock and temp display, why ? you may think?when i get on the bike it basically tells me how many layers i need, which is many at the moment as the weather here is bad for no obvious reason it also lites up for 5 secs when i press the button on the right which is helpful at nite. oh man, people with dial-up are going to hate me!!

Really nice and the brazing of the bung for the oxigen sensor is not too bad, but you should have gone TIG welding for a much better look

tig would of been good, but i had no idea it was going to be soo shoddy!
when i took her to the dealer, they put it on the honda diagnostic machine and reset the values and let it idle for 15 mins. he also took out the lambda and cleaned it out.
the light did not come on during the 20min ride home buton a later ride it did and still does.
they said honda pgm-fi is very sensitive, but i said that nearly every fireblade and 600rr's have aftermarket exhausts, and it is not an issue! no real reply to that one i have to report. but if it does flash this thread may be able to help you i.d the prob.

Would you be so kind as taking a pic of the original exhaust with the 02 sensor and other of our exhaust so we can compare and figure out what you need to do to fix your problem.

your Sensor is way too close to the head, the pulses fromthe exhaust are driving your ECM crazy, relocate it closer to the muffler and your problems are over

well spotted dude! never thought about it like that..
i was thinking along the lines of how much the sensor sits into the pipe at first.
but the weird thing is,that this set up worked fine for aoround 2-2500 miles before i got probs with nthe code flashing.and another uk guy who was the 1st to fit a yoshi with a bung had it in the same place, not so easy to place it further back without sticking out because of the headpipe and silencer join.
i think i need to do back to back tests with the standard and the polini.
also, altho like most,i ride it like i stole it,if i have a talewind and light traffic,i can back off a little, and the warning light takes longer to trigger.
but you have made a very clever possible solution chanito, cheers ..

quicky update, took bike to work and put 3 skinny washers between the bung and the lambda, also i cleaned the sensor on the exhaust side which was a little sooty which maybe normal?
but the upside is,that the light never came on the way home which is around 12 miles,so far so good!
but if it does keep coming on again,i will then refer to plan b (chanito's idea).

Putting the spacers get the sensor away from the flow, so the readings are more constant and the ECM will accept that better than the weird readings from the original position, but what you have done is making the sensor readings not as accurate as the original position, so the fuel control will not be as good as the factory intended OK guys, sensors 101.- the Oxygen sensor or lambda sensor are little voltage generators, that create voltage according to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust, this oxygen amount fluctuates due to the exhaust valves closing and opening, so the computer uses what is called a cross-count and the maximum and minimum voltages to regulate the mixture, so if the mixture is rich the voltages will be lower on average and the ECM will lean it and see the voltage raise up and the cross count go up, and the averages will stay around the middle and the ECM will be very happy But if after the ECM adjust and see no change on the voltages, it will start to loose its trust on the sensor and might even decide to accuse it of being no good and let you know about it by lighting up the little check engine light, in your case what happens is that with the sensor being so close to the valve and into the gas stream is creating a high pressure zone right at the sensor (you might called it a mild restriction) so when you go on your merry way around the UK the reading around the sensor start staying constant as is very little flow to change those readings (and it should be a lot), the cross count goes down, the ECM efforts in adjusting the mixture are being ignore and then when you have to stop for a stop light or some chap braking in front of you, the readings go back to normal and the ECM had done nothing, so she might start to suspect foul play, getting the sensor up and out will prevent this zone, but also will expose less area of the sensor to the stream so it will need to see more drastic changes in order to react, however it will react accordingly to the ECM and she will just think the sensor is lazy but still providing feedback and leave it alone. Putting the sensor further back and close to the muffler give you a buffer zone and the muffler acts as a very efficient one way valve giving the sensor plenty of flow, but being so much back means the sensor does not get such a hot gas and it need to be very hot in order to work right, that is why it need a heater and that is the reason you have a 4 wire sensor, 2 are for the sensor signal and two for the heater Comprende?

wow that was intense and extremely informative. totally impressed!
the dam light came on ,ahhhhhhhhh though not so often tho it has helped some in general. and now i know why i have 4 wires too. thinking back when i got the yoshi but no bung installed,i had the lambda tied back and not in the exhaust ,it rarely set off the light, does anyone remember the guy who was the first to fit a yoshi here in the uk?and fix a bung,he was on the other site... i cant find it? chanito u have a pm
