hey all, i bought this bad boy two weeks ago, and it already has 110 miles on! the only mods there are on it: a thumb screw (thx jasonmartin ), alarmed lock (!) and a military chemical defense kit bag (i am in the army). oh, plus the wheel stripes, reflective yellow ( increasing safety by increasing visibility, tha's right!) ;D i ordered a windshield from chanito , but he is awol (no updates since last week)... this is me thinking: "which key is which?" after unlocking the scooter from the meter. by the way, why does everyone regard ruckus as "she"? i always thought it is a he. of course, the phrase "i ride him everyday" sounds weird, but i think of my ruckus as a battlebudy, friend and... hmm... kind of like a loyal steed (don't laugh! yeah, you!). so, anyways...

I'll fix your pix. In the future, after typing the URL of the image, hi-lite the text and click the Or, click the button, and enter the URL between the code. Either way, you'll have the code, then it'll work.

I refer to my Ruckus as a girl, and my car, for that matter, too, because of something that stuck out in my mind while reading the Hunt for Red October, years ago... Tom Clancy has a bit in it about Russian's referred to their subs by the masculine, in contrast to how we refer by the feminine. That's one thing that stands out (I think it was that novel). Then again, maybe because she's just so darn gorgeous, and it's a little weird to talk about how pretty a man is... not that I have a problem with that...

I refer to my Ruck as a girl because I take such good care of it and pamper it...it just doesn't feel right to be down there scrubbing away on 'him' but giving 'her' a good polishing sounds fine.
Anyways, congrats on the new Ruck. I like the rim stripes a lot. Chanito has ones like that too...you'll really dig the Chanito windscreen when it arrives. When you get caught out in a bit of rain then tucking behind that is life saver if you're close to home.

If you do an eBay search for Honda Ruckus some will come up but I think there it's just normal reflective tape.

well, actually, it's not just reflective tape, if you look on ebay for ruckus wheel stripes, you'll find a set for big ruckus. go to the seller's store, and they'll have stripes for metro (which is 10'' wheel, as well as stock ruckus), you choose the color and off you go. about $17 shipped. now, the biggest difference between these stripes and reflective tape is that these are pre-curved, so it's easy to apply it. regular, non-reflective, are about twice as cheap.

ok, i got your windshield yesterday, chanito, thanks ! very surprised to find out that post office works on saturdays. installed it; had a minor difficulty with the lower mounts that attach to the headlight frame, those brackets are a bit too tight, took a lot of effort to "stretch" them. in the process, my pliers slipped off and left a nice long scratch on the inside of the windshield . here are some pics of the windshield installed: after installation, i took a trip to walmart (about 18 miles each way). it feels like windshield really adds at least 1-2 mph to maximum speed ;D, i've reached the redline many times on flats, sometimes even with wind blowing towards me . but still, i had some problems on slight hills with head wind, where speed dropped from 43 mph to 35-30, or sometimes even to 25 . that made me think: i read a lot of opinions on ruckus's speed (mostly, people think it's very insufficient ). 43 mph speed is more than adequate for a 50cc and the money ruckus is worth; if someone wants more than that, he should spend more money and buy himself, say, something like 150cc, or even better - 250cc. for $2100 (that's how much i paid otd), ruckus is worth every penny and is an awesome piece of engineering ;D. ruckus rules! thas'rite! ;D
