Following some posts by von and some other guys i cut off the duck tail, relocate the tach lower so is closer to the speedo, add some stickers to the windshield, my son who is at The University of Florida insisted on the gator and i liked it becouse my other son who is in the Navy, serving in the USS ESSEX, is an Iron Gator, and of course my home made intake, first the front views now a close-up of my underseat storage and intake a picture of my cockpit the famous home made windshield responsible for a higher top speed, and more room for more stickers and finally a side view with all my mods (for now)

Chanito, it looks great Good pix. I can't cut off my rear flap: too much mud on the farm. If you ride bikes long enuf especially choppers you get home after the rain with a big mud skunk stripe up the center of your back

Thanks, but i have to admit Teds is right, i rided right after a rain and i got a wet back , cutting the tail makes the fender look nicer, but, that duck tail is there for a reason, i already cutted it so i will ride it like that, but do not do it unless you do not ride in the rain or mud Still a windshield is the best mod to the ruckus, bar none

No that yellow stripe is nothing fancy, is just yellow electric tape wich i attach to the steel wheels, after i cleaned them, of course, with some alcohol, it was kind of hard and up close they look kind of crooked

I did some mods to the variator and the intake, and i could get to 41-42 once in a while, i guess depending on the wind, but most of the time it was like 39, however after i made the windshield i get to 42 all the time and a couple of times i got to what i estimated 43, i have to make an exhaust so i can reach 8k (hopefully), the scary part now is that i need better brakes, you need to squeeze those brakes a LOT harder to slow down from 40+,

My fender is atleast as short as yours and I don't get any on me. With my shorter fender I get some spray on the taillight area but nothing makes it to the seat. Mine is about the same length in the center but a bit shorter on the sides. I'm seperated from my Ruckus for the next 2.5 weeks but after that I'll try to post pics.

If you do a word or phrase search on this site, you'll most likey find the thread on your topic of choice. Almost everything that can/could/should be done to a Ruckus is on this site, somewhere. Not that it makes any big difference to most of these people as we love to talk Ruckus but theres no need to restart topics everytime theres a query. I'm sure on this one as I started one with Chanito on this very topic. The truth is out there.

Whats the point of a tach on a bike you dont need to shift on?
Still, that Ruckus is really nice, especially with the intake mod. The one thing I dont like is the windsheild, it will just slow you down and just looks wierd on a Ruckus.

I have this crazy fantasy that i ride in a big harley, instead of a Ruckus, so i sit way back, that might explain why i got wet and you would not, so next time i just ride like i am supose to. I love answering questions, even thought some times my answer might not be right, so in repply it is just a piece of 11 x 14 lexan that i heated and bent against a pipe and then fabricated brackets, painted them and there you go a windshield, i am still surprise how well it works, that is i just chose that size becouse it was the smaller and i wanted to experiment on how to bent lexan, but when i finished and sew the results i just sticked to that size, i think a bigger one will not look right, and Ruckass is right somewhere is a whole topic about that, talking about that i don't know if he still wants one, as i offer to sell him one with smoke instead of clear lexan, and i still have not got around to seach for the material

I just put a rolled up blanket on that bar. It's not wrapped around. It's strapped to it

Thanks for the sugestions, yes i have been thinking about a new seat bracket that will put the seat further back and lower, but i have to relocate the upper shock mount about 3/4 of and inch back, for now i use a a/c pipe insulator
