Open up the battery cover and look for a small aluminum cube. This is the flasher unit. This should be what is causing the lights not to flash. It has a number on and may be avail at auto parts store. Replace and that should cure the problem. You mentioned aftermarket lights, if they are higher wattage bulbs in these units this could cause the flasher not to function.(current draw too high)

Yeah different wattage will mess up the timing and if they are way different (like if they are LED's) they might not flash at all. Also, check to make sure that you bought 12V lights and not 6V ones.

I decided to install led lights on my 2011 Ruckus. I installed led H4 bulbs for the headlight , led for the tail light/brakelight and finally led bulbs for the turn signals. Everything functions normally and am happy with the results except for the turn signals. When I switch to the left or right turn switch instead of blinking all 4 turn signals stay on at a solid glow serving as running lights instead of turn signals. Why is this happening and what do I need to do to get this problem resolved instead of putting the regular bulbs back in. Any suggestions would be appreciated
