hi, i was wondering how fast that variator kit(not stock) from battle scooter made the ruckus go

Well it depends quite a bit on how much power you are making because the variator kit just gives you taller gearing on the top end...like adding a 6th speed to a 5 spd car transmission. If your Ruckus is stock you can expect to gain 2-3mph.

With my polini i was able to hold about 63km/h on flats.....

With my polini i was able to hold about 63km/h on flats..... Which is about 40mph which is pretty standard results I'd say as long as you live somewhere with a stretch long enough to test it out on. Ligher rollers give you better accel with no top speed loss unless you go to light. Aftermarket variators give you more top end and aftermarket clutch compression springs give you faster downshifting but if you are going to do all 3 it's a bit of a balancing act.

ya long stretches are sooo need to actually see what the modd'd Ruckie will do, here in the Eastcoast its hard for me to run consistant spped trials cause theres barely any flat ground..arg....but ya the virator should give ya around 62-63kph top end...my ruckus (with big "edit profanity" Duro knobies) tops out @ around 67kph and thats with only a daytona virator 5.5/6 gram weights and a CDI......hopefully it will hit near 70 kph with teh Boppers back on this summer......cross your fingers....

yeah, everso slightly up or downhill and wind make a big diff. Going slightly downhill i can go around 65-66, uphill about 60. Hopefully with the cam on ill be able to crack 70 on flats I still havent hit the limiter yet so i see no need for the CDI, and once i do get it ill need a tach so i dont blow myself to bits

I must have done something to my Ruck... Before I was getting around 54-55km/h. I put on a Kitaco variator and I gained maybe 3-4km/h so I now have a top speed around 56 ot 57 km/h... I cannot get it any faster on a long flat straight. Drive belt worn? Tire worn? Anything else I can look into? I have 2800 kms on it. I remember when I could hit the limiter around 60 on a flat... Not anymore

It's probably your valve gaps. Those need to be adjusted periodically and cause you to lose power.

funny, i have 2300 km's on mine, and i broke something or other in the rear driven pulley. Thats limited my top end to about 55 km/h or so, and it takes a long time getting there. Take the casing off, and take a look if theres alot of belt jump when you rev the engine. If so, you've got a problem with the rear drive pulley, and that could be the cause of your problem. Another thing to check is the wieghts. What are you running in the kitaco. I ran the stock wieghts in my polini and was almost stalling in the low rpms, and it couldnt crack 50km/h on a straightaway. Is the variator the only mod youve done??

Oil level is fine Valve lash is good as far as I know. I did it close to the end of the summer. What am I looking for in the rear drive pulley? Right now I am using 5.7 gram weights but they have some small wear marks on them, I have a set of 6 gram on the way.

Regardless of how your valves are now things will be different after the cam because the diameter of the cam is less so you need thicker shims to keep the gaps the same. The change isn't huge (you might go from a 2.20mm shim to a 2.50mm shim) but it'll run a lot better. I know Crower didn't adjust 50ccchicks shims when they installed her cam. Failure to adjust the shims will result in less power because your valves won't open as far and your engine will sound louder because with a big gap there the cam lobe will wack into the valve instead of smoothly pushing it open.

I don't have 7g. Just the 5.7g and the stock 7.5g.
Its too cold in Edmonton right now to do anything and the roads are too icy for my liking to be riding on 2 wheels.
On the Kitaco instruction card is says to grease the rollers... Is that a good idea or a bad idea?

Thats a terrible idea, thats whats causing your problems right there. I got a little grease on my rollers and the stupid thing would stall on any little hill. Grease the inside edges of the variator, where the center goes in, thats the only spot that should be greased.

I find that greasing the spacer is bad because the tiny belt wear bits stick to the grease and after time make it gunked up. Considering the spacer and the variator do not spin on each other, they only slide across each other, or into each other, i think its best to leave it clean or maybe some graphite powdered dry lube.
