If you'd spend hundreds of dollars and countless hours tweaking for a few extra miles an hour: You might be a Ruckaholic. If you don't mind risking your life on a 40mph road just to see if you can make the speed limit: You might be a Ruckaholic. If you spend hours on end searching Ruckas Central for knowledge & new ideas: You might be a Ruckaholic. If you have no qualms about hacking up or off perfectly good parts in the name of speed, convienience, or fashion: You might be a Ruckaholic. If you head out on the road @11pm into a foggy cold mist freezing your face off just to see how your latest mods effect your scooter: You just might be a Ruckaholic. Hi, my name is Phred and I'm a Ruckaholic ;D

Hi Phred and thanks for Sharing Your story. My Name is Joel And I am a Ruckaholic. I know I must be a Ruckaholic because I am now on my second Ruckus. Yes , It looks just like the old one. My Girlfriend says I love my Scooter more than I love Her. I told her that was not true......... she said " Yes it is..." I simply replied > "Yes, You're right"......... Maybe if She would let me ride her the way I ride the Ruck .........LOL No but seriously though, I don't think my girlfriend would allow me to install a Hybrid CDI unit or a new aftermarket Variator in her...... She certainly wouldn't let me even come close to her roller weights...... Let alone changing her exhaust!!!!!!

Yup Joel, sounds like you are one of us. We need to make up a little prayer or something. Lord, help me fix what I screwed up, and accept what I cannot improve or afford to upgrade. Let me be content w/mid forties, and not covet my neighbors cam, or motor swap, or lust after a big bore kit. May I be grateful to ride even w/stock parts and continue to grow into a comfy lowered seat mod, with my face quietly behind the windscreen, and my tach, entering into the 9's on the flat and narrow road. AMEN!!

I would be too if there was such a thing as Ruckahol. I know I'm an addict and Ruckus is my drug of choice. I too have gone through a Ruckus, or at least the motor, once. I have spent many hours (days) figuring out japanese CDI instructions, fuel gauge instructions, and re-adjusting my carb jetting/air filter. I must be an addict as I can only think of the next mod I will be doing to it.
My michelin Boppers should arrive today!

Hey everyone!! It's been two years since I sold my Ruck (5000 kms) because the guys at the border wouldn't let me take 'er down to California when we moved. Well, I'm back in BC, and just purchased a brand new 03' Ruck again from the same dealer. He knew what I wanted them moment I walked in...Saved a few hundred bucks, and put that perm-a smile back on my face once again...I bent down and whispered apoligetically with tears of joy into the battery box..."never again, never again..." What a great forum! ;D I've gone and ordered the aftermarket variator and 6 of the 6 gram weights from the battlescooter store. Can't wait to charge the hills around here! Present mods: CDI, two small K+N filters for the breather hoses, and stock airbox. Doing 41mph on the flat. 6' tall, 165lbs. I think i need a windshield...maybe in the fall.

Hey Ruckass!
Looks like we're almost neighbors. I live in Abbotsford. Thanks for the warm welcome.
I need some feedback about a glitch I've discovered since driving off the dealer lot. I'll post it in the 'help' section.

Welcome ptarmagrin. Glad to hear you are again among us Ruckus riders. I can't picture what I would do w/o it now and I have only had it like 6 weeks. I just wish the new job was close enough to ride it to work.

;D Maybe when it's a bit warmer though. Right now I've still got the Ruckus hooked up to my dog-team to help it mush through the snow-claven roads. When it thaws, we'll have a window of about 2 days of good riding, before everything freezes over again, so we should meet up in those couple of days. I'm estimating it's only about a 6 hour trip at maximum speed to meet you in Vancouver. I think if I let the Discovery Channel know about this, they'll do a full documentary of the perils of such a journey and the significance of still owning a dog-sled-team up here in the great white North. Gotta love Canada. Pass me another Sleeman's Honey Brown. So, yeah let's meet sometime. Maybe Langley? p.s. I'll bring pics of my Igloo.
