Nice results It sounds like you've got it dialed. A 35/90 jetting setup sounds right and a 45mph top speed for a 245lbs rider is great. Is that tucking or sitting upright?

Glad to hear that you got the scoot dial up, i still think most people do not need to change the slow jet, just play with the idle mixture screw, but i guess that just apply to us heavy riders That is what i have but i cut 1 and a 1/2 coils out of the carb diaphragm spring I put the 6 grams weights on the variator, but lost my top speed, so i had to go back to the stock weights, now i am using a polini variator with the stock weights and is the best so far, but i also shorthen the spacer

So which variator do you find gives you a higher top speed?

What's with the caps locks? Anyways, I'm pretty sure Chanito doesn't have the Met gears. Last I heard he didn't. I've tried the Met gears and found with just the last gear, the difference is surprisingly minor. How are you finding it? And why are you thinking of taking it out?

Please lay off the capslock, bmills, it looks like you're shouting incessantly.

sorry, well my thiking is i live in ahilly area.andthe top speed on a stock rukus is 46mph.I dont hit the rev limiter. So removing it would give me more power.Without losing my top speed. What do you think

No i do not have the met gears installed, i have a tranny with all the gears, i am planing to install it with the Sanjuro Mud guard, but i think both the polini and the stock have the same top speed, i just use the polini with the stock weights, because i like the look of the polini

With the stock variator my 2006 Ruckus redlined at 68.1km/hr (~41mph) whereas with the Polini it redlines at 72.5km/hr (~43mph) so the Polini clearly has a higher top gear ratio. If this isn't turning into a higher top speed for a Polini owner then it's likely that their Ruckus just has a hard time pulling that taller ratio so it winds up about the same as stock.

The 35/88 is running fairly well, but still not the improvement I had hoped w/ the big bore and cam. I put in a fresh spark plug, rode for 5 minutes at WOT, and pulled it. The ceramic portion was still white, and the electrode had some white deposits on it, so I think I may try the 90 main jet out and see how that fares. It will still stall or bog down if I go from idle to full throttle quickly (like at a stop light), but I think adjusting the idle mix might help that, once I get my Veypor back. For now, slowly rolling onto the throttle solves that issue.
I'm also redlining at 40/41 MPH, which seems a little low. Tire pressures are between 25-30 PSI and I changed out the front axle. This was happening before the big bore / polini installation, but when I first got my scooter it was more like 43 MPH. I was hoping the Polini would gear it even taller, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Any other ideas? I still have the original stock belt on. Maybe that would improve my redline speed?

My stock 2006 Ruckus redlined at 68km/hr (42mph) and with the Polini redlines around 72km/hr (44mph). Switching to an aftermarket drive belt raised this speed up to about 74km/hr (45.5mph) because it gets squashed less so it remains wide at high speeds giving you that slightly taller ratio.
With a 35/90 setup my Ruckus accelerates good but not great (7.5 seconds to 30mph) and the top end is about 38mph when cold (first 2-3 minutes) and then 41-43mph when warm depending on the conditions. Those are honest, not tucking at all top speeds. Tucking I can get up to 47mph on flats with a warm engine.
Last year with a 42/82 setup I was accelerating to 30mph about 1.5 - 2 seconds faster so I think I've got some work to do there and I think there's a bit more top end to be gained as well. I think my current 35/90 setup lags a bit off the line which hurts my 0-30mph times and it's a bit rich up top. I think I'm going to try something like a 40/88 next.
