Maybe I'll just go ahead and order one with your shipping address and then when it arrives you can mail it up? Could you PM me your address? I know I've got it somewhere from when I got that taillight sent to your house but I don't want to wade through my 432 PM's to find it.

Yup....what do you guys use to hold the socket? I normally use a 1/4" socket plus an extension. I've seen some carb mix sockets + handles online too though that would be handy to have so you don't have to worry about dropping the socket.

I have a ratcheting screwdriver that uses different tips, so i just remove the tip and install this and just go have fun with the idle mixture screw But yes you can use it with any 1/4 inch socket, there is a small ball on the side of the tool to prevent it from falling down ;D

Is this tool only for a certain year Ruckus? My 07 idle mixture screw is completely round, not D shaped. I ended up ordering 10 of these bits so I could help out some friends, and others on the boards. Does anyone need one? PM me.
But can someone confirm if this bit is for a particular year ruckus? thanks!

It should fit any year of Ruckus. Either you idle screw has been worn out of the D shape somehow or you just need to look closer. Your idle mix screw should be round on the outside with a D shaped middle.

D shaped on the '08. But, I got rid of the original screw.

Weird, I didn't see any screw in the carb that the bit would fit. I'll check again tonight and take pictures if I'm still not able to adjust it.
The reason I'm doing all this is cause of my BMF rear shock. I had to change to breathers as the OEM air box would not fit with the rear shock on. Then I had to rejet my system. I'm using the following:
Main Jet: 85 Slow Jet: 38
My high end is almost as fast as it is stock. My acceleration could be better though as sometimes it feels bogged down. Also, when I'm idle, my engine might shut off if I roll backwards. I'm sure if I play with my idle mix screw I can get my ruckus back to running normal.

I was under the impression that the idle mixture screw was the round screw close to the slow jet, but after reading the comments, I'm starting to think otherwise. Anyone got a picture of the idle mixture screw?

The idle mix screw is not inside the carb bowl like the main jet and slow jet are. The idle mix screw is on the left side of the carb near the front. You can access it with a D socket (and maybe an extension) while the scooter is running. The idea is that you get the scooter warmed up and then you adjust this to get the idle as high as possible. Because you're adjusting the air/fuel mix, as the idle rises you know you are getting a better mix. If you set it so that the idle is as high as possible then you know you've got the ideal air/fuel mix. Lastly, you then use the normal idle screw on the top of the carb to drop the RPM back down to the normal 2000 RPM (+/- 100 RPM) idle speed. If you don't have a tach, just lower it until the rear wheel doesn't spin like crazy any more. You want to have the idle lower than the engagement RPM so that you don't wear out your clutch slipping while you're stopped.

Found a cheaper and easier way, go buy a 12" length of 1/4" brake line, cut off one end and take a pair of needle nose pliers to crush the end slightly into the "D" shape. It took 2 minutes and it worked like a charm. Use the pictures provided to get an idea of what it should look like.
Good Luck hope this helps for those of you without tool dealers.

How much is 12" of brakeline? Because this socket is only like $5 and then you have the real tool. I can see the value of this clever idea for those who need to adjust this immediately but if you're planning ahead it makes sense to get the socket.

I tried to get the socket from the dealers that come to my shop (Toolbox, Matco, Toolman) Strap-on dick hasn't been around in months, so the do-it yourself method was my only option.
8" or 12" 1/4 dia brake line 2-5 bucks and are available everywhere (Any parts store, Canadian Tire etc) unlike the D-socket tool which by the time I'm done tracking one down and having it shipped would be well over 2-5 bucks
Just trying to help some people without dealing with the tool guys
Also Dan you don't have to worry about the socket falling off because its all one piece, you could also use some hockey tape to make a handle though I have not.

Aloha everyone
New kid here!!! I have a question or more? I live on the Big Island of Hawaii and am wondering about temp and altitude changes.
1) altitude ranges are sea level to 4500 ft 2) temp changes are 78-52 average (78 sea level)
How will this effect the Da Ruck with these changes.? My Ruck is an 09 and top speed up hill 42 down 47 and level 45-46 and I am 200lbs. (approx speeds +/-)
Mahalo Nui Loa (thanks alot)
Question? Should I be messing with the carb being the Ruck is running fine at this point. I really dont see too much difference except at full throttle it feels like a strain up hill new the 4000ft level.
